Youth
The Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) is a group of middle and high school students from our church and from our community with the purpose of studying God's Word and applying it to our lives, serving others, and learning how to love and live as a part of God's family (fellowship). Some of the CYF's activities are:
Study
Supper Study-- one Sunday night of each month, hosted at congregation members' homes. Dinner and bible study.
Logos-- Weekly dinner, fellowship, and bible study on Thursday nights
Service service projects as needed for the community and congregation
Mission/Camp Trips-- Yearly summer trips of service that have included Murphy, NC, Sea Level, NC, and White Lake, NC. Recently, youth have participated in the work weeks at Christmount (www.christmount.org)
Family Adoption for Christmas
Bowling
Fundraiser Luncheons
The youth also have a Sunday School class taught by the pastor and various church members. The class meets from 10:00 -10:45 every Sunday morning and usually follows the Lectionary. This allows are youth to begin thinking in advance about the scripture that will be addressed in the worship service.
